Hello, I’m Meredith, founder of Cabinette!

I am obsessed with spaces and places, colours and patterns, rooms and windows. Design work has always been a treasured hobby, I have spent my life making something from nothing - creating beautiful spaces with very, very little money. This gives me an eye for staying on budget, getting crafty, and thinking beyond the obvious.
My style is shaped by my mother and her sisters’ obsession with Tasteful Things, and growing up in their cozy houses in Saskatchewan.
I’ve done many types of work - bartender, social strategist, writer, crafter, mother, and sketch comedian - but design feels like a true homecoming, and it puts all my top skills to great use!

Studying and working on interiors seriously for the past year has brought me such joy and a real sense of purpose.

I love to work with small spaces, restrictions, and tricky floor plans - I’m always looking for a puzzle to solve.
Personally, I favour cozy, layered, colourful, eclectic spaces.
Professionally, I want to work to make your home specific and exactly how you want it.
I have a special interest in restoring or maintaining character details and in adding charm to basic spaces.
I also love incorporating your own treasured pieces, as well as thrifted or antique items. I always have an eye on sustainability and quality materials, and look to reduce waste wherever possible.
