Abell St.

THE BRIEF

Reorient and decorate the client’s bedroom, which they haven't put much thought into so far. They want a cozy, functional space that better reflects their playful and artistic nature.

Our client lives alone and uses their bedroom for sleep - they don’t like to lounge in bed or need a sitting area. They require more storage for their clothes and have requested a cool vanity area to get ready for the day.

Client would like to keep their bed and bedframe, and their green gingham duvet cover set.

Budget for this refresh (not including paint and electrical) is $2000

  • Reorienting the bed and bringing it close to the window (with a tall lamp to add separation and definition) makes better use of the space and creates a cozy sleeping area.

  • A rectangular rug alongside of the bed, running to the vanity will add texture and softness to the space.

  • Narrow french-style, rattan doors (painted to match the walls) for the closet make the make space feel finished and keep clothes easily accessible.

  • A tall dresser with deep drawers will add much-needed storage.

  • A pendant light between the vanity table and the bed is dual purpose for make-up and a bedside lamp.
